[00:00:23] Speaker A: At Fan Expo Canada, I spoke with Ben Moreau about his graphic novel Huxley. Ben Moreau is accomplished author, illustrator and creative visionary known for his exceptional contributions to the entertainment industry. With nearly two decades of experience in concept design and world building, his work has shaped some of the most iconic films, video games and projects in the science fiction and fantasy genres. Ben is the creator of Huxley, the acclaimed graphic novel series that is celebrated for its rich storytelling, intricate visuals, and immersive universe. Huxley has captured the imagination of readers and industry professionals alike.
He has worked with studio studios such as Weta Workshop, Microsoft and Activision, contributing to blockbuster titles including the Hobbit trilogy, Elysium, Chappie, Valerian, Mortal Engines, Lucy, the amazing Spider Man 2, Halo Infinite, and Call of Duty Advanced Warfare, as well as Black Ops 3 and 4, among many others.
So here's my interview with Ben Morrow.
[00:01:29] Speaker B: All right, could you start by introducing yourself?
[00:01:32] Speaker C: I'm Ben Morrow. I'm the author and illustrator of Huxley.
[00:01:35] Speaker B: Okay, so what inspired you to make Huxley?
[00:01:39] Speaker C: I think just my love of science.
[00:01:40] Speaker D: Fiction and post apocalyptic stories and working.
[00:01:43] Speaker C: In the game and film industry for.
[00:01:44] Speaker D: A long time really wanted to make something unique.
[00:01:48] Speaker B: So how did your work in the film industry influence the visual styles and story?
[00:01:57] Speaker C: I think it helped a lot because worked on a lot of big things.
[00:02:01] Speaker D: Like Elysium and Chappie and a lot.
[00:02:03] Speaker C: Of far future stories helped build that skill up so that I could hopefully.
[00:02:08] Speaker D: Do it for myself in Huxley.
[00:02:13] Speaker B: Yeah, well, I was actually impressed that Huxley is like this cinematic trailer. So I wonder if there are plans for adapting into other mediums like expanding the trailer or making a film or.
[00:02:26] Speaker C: Yeah, definitely. I mean, we're trying to expand it.
[00:02:28] Speaker D: Into many different areas and excited to talk about it when something more official we can speak to.
[00:02:36] Speaker B: So what does it feel being at a convention as large as Fan Expo?
[00:02:40] Speaker C: It's awesome. This is my first time being at a big event like this and for Huxley.
[00:02:45] Speaker D: So it's been great to meet people.
[00:02:46] Speaker C: Like yourself and a lot of other.
[00:02:48] Speaker D: People that are really into graphic novels and movies and video games.
[00:02:53] Speaker B: Okay, so any final words?
